Fifty to 100 Project

I would like to start painting again. I’ve never been a serious painter, but I’ve always enjoyed it. I’ll be turning fifty years old next spring, and I figure I’d better get a move on it if I want to be a “serious” painter.

My grandfather lived to be 100 years old. If I’m as lucky as he was, and I paint two paintings per year, that’s only 100 paintings left in my lifetime. So I guess that’s my goal, I need to paint 100 paintings before I'm 100 years old. They don’t have to be masterpieces, just something I’ve put some time and thought into.

The last painting I created was for the Oregon State Fair in 2023, almost three years ago. I then took a creative detour into comics for a few years, but started to feel out of my element and a bit over my head. It may be something I return to, but for now I need to refocus on painting.

This journal is where I will write about what’s on my mind with regard to picking up the paintbrush again.
